Hi , it's nice to meet you. My name is Tina.

At any given time we  and Balinese kittens.

We concentrate on health and personality. Believe it or not most of our kittens know what "no", "out" and "down" mean. Each day they get put out on our bed. Mommas and babies are kept in our bedroom. They have to reach certain benchmarks. When they can jump off the bed they are then permitted to play on the floor in the bedroom. All the while our dogs are always with us. They must be able to find the litterbox, food, and water and have their first shot before we open the door to the rest of the house. Also, I begin trimming their nails when they can jump not just climb. I use toenail or fingernail clippers. Which is between 9 and 10 weeks. We just open the door, and they decided where to explore. Also, they can stay in and the others come in to visit. They get use to additional noises and the other cats. The first couple of freedom nights they go back to the bedroom in their house (crate) this is their safe place. Usually between 10 and 12 weeks they are fine out in the big house. I don't push them one way or another. They have to be able to find the food, water and litter box in the big house before they get to stay all night out there (About 3 days). By 12 weeks they are normally ready to go to their new homes. They are permitted to climb, jump, play and the like EXCEPT they are not permitted on the stove and kitten counters. I'm sure they sneak but as soon as they hear movement they correct their behavior.

Let me address the crate I mentioned. First all mommas go into one about a week before they are due. This prevents any surprises and with me being in here 99% of the time, if something needs addressed with the birth and thereafter, I am right here. Its super important they are safe. They have a heating pad on one side, a pad (actually for bed wetting) and depending on the momma an open top box or a box like a cave. Food and water bowl to the front. The litter box is on the opposite side. The cage has an insulated cover to keep the heat in and they feel safe. There are also pool noodles wrapped in duct tape so they cannot slip through the bars at the bottom. This is their house. They feel safe and its kept as clean as possible. Momma teaches them to eat, drink and use the litter pan. We feed mommas the "soup" to ensure she can keep up her milk supply. Momma's slow down nursing around 4 weeks and continue until they are weaned. She stays with them as long as she wants. Alot of our mom's play with their kittens up until the day they leave.

We free feed (available 24/7) dry Purina kitten chow and feed them 3 times a day wet food. Either the raw we make; Viva Raw or canned pate mixed with water to look like a soup. This helps ensure they do not get dehydrated. We use a 1/2 lb deli cup with 1 can of food (9 lives) and add water until it reaches almost 3/4 to the top. Add 1 probiotic and a sprinkle of L-lysine once a day.

We use pine pellets (from tractor supply) with a regular litter pan. The pellets because it doesn't stick to their paws, and they are less likely to ingest any. Put just enough in the bottom and dump it every day or every other day. We actually use it to fill in the holes our dogs dig haha. Our way of composting. It's cheap and but the best part is no smell and easy to clean. Dump, (wipe the pan with Lysol disinfectant wipes if needed) and refill.
