A two year old pure bred Dalmatian located in Pittsfield MA looking for his forever home. He is Fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked, DNA tested, and has had a urinalysis, full blood panel and fecal test done!
Harley came to me as a heartbreaking shell of a dog—skin and bones at just 28 pounds (Now 65lbs!), covered in sores, fighting infections, and clearly neglected for a long time. But that was then. Now? Harley is thriving. Happy. Healthy. Full of life. And ready for a home that truly understands what it means to love and care for a Dalmatian.
Before you fall for his striking looks, understand this: Harley is not your average family pet. Dalmatians are not low-maintenance. They were bred to run for hours beside horses—not nap in crates while you work a 9-to-5. Harley needs more than love; he needs space, stimulation, structure, and someone home often or willing to take him along.
🐾 What Harley Needs (Non-Negotiable):
• A fenced yard or multiple acres to safely run—walks alone are not enough
• A home with another playful dog—he thrives with dog companionship
• No long crating—he was locked in one for too long in his past and becomes anxious
• Someone home often—he cannot be alone for 8+ hours a day
• A house, not an apartment. He needs space, both physically and mentally
• Strict diet: Harley must stay on a low-purine urinary care food (approx. $100/30lb bag, lasts ~3 weeks). No exceptions. The wrong food risks serious medical issues.
🐶 What You’ll Get:
• A goofy, sweet, people-loving dog who adores fetch, snuggles, and being your shadow
• A dog who is great with kids, dogs, and has lived with cats previously and with a slow and proper introduction could again!
• Potty trained, smart, food-motivated, leash-savvy, and fantastic at the vet
• A soulful survivor who’s learned to play, trust, and live again
Harley is still learning. He can be high-strung in new situations and his recall off-leash is not reliable—he doesn’t understand the danger of roads or cars. But once he settles, he melts into his surroundings like he’s always been there. He is also potty trained but drinks a lot of water to keep his body from forming crystals so he does have to go out often throughout the day, can sleep 8+ hours through the night though!
Bottom Line:
Harley is not a beginner dog. He’s not a dog you can leave alone all day. He’s not for apartments, busy schedules, or casual adopters. He needs a home that’s ready, researched, and fully committed. In return he will reward you with never ending love and loyalty.
He’s come too far to settle for less.
Harley will come with a crate (if needed) leashes, harnesses, martingale collar, fully vet checked, a FI Gps collar, A bag of food. And misc items he’s collected while he’s been here! ❤️
